Industry action to support consumer issues

On the 5th of July, RECCo hosted a stakeholder event at Capgemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE) to identify how we could address consumer issues as a collective. This included issues around energy affordability, energy consumption and lower-income households.

Throughout the day, we reminded ourselves of the challenges faced by different consumer groups, hearing from a range of speakers on the issues they see, using consumer personas to better understand what impacts different people, and looking at materials and resources gathered for the event. We appreciate the openness and candour with which the participants engaged in this process. Interesting debates and discussions during the ‘designing a way forward’ session produced material for RECCo to review and identify actions.

A summary of the event and outputs of the sessions can be found here.

We want to keep up the event’s momentum and have identified areas where RECCo can make a difference. We plan to hold a further event on the 17th of October to review actions and our progress and consider what other issues are on the horizon. Please let us know if you are interested in this event by emailing recco_strategy@retailenergycode.co.uk.
