Executive Team Update – June 2023

Our Chairman, Chris Anastasi would like to share the following message with all RECCo stakeholders:

“I am writing to inform you of a temporary planned change to our Executive Team at the Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo), which I anticipate being in place for up to 6 months.

The RECCo Nominations Committee and Board have been aware for some time that our current CEO, Sid Cox would, unfortunately, require a period of extended medical leave during 2023. We have been planning for this absence to ensure continuity in all our activities during Sid’s leave of absence.

Today we have activated those plans, and I am pleased to confirm them to you below.

The RECCo Board is delighted to promote Elizabeth Lawlor as interim CEO for the period of Sid’s medical leave of absence which is expected to start on Friday 23rd June. To enable Elizabeth to focus on her role as CEO, the Board has also decided to appoint an Interim Director of Operations, Mark Loveday, who joins the Executive Team today and will assume responsibility for RECCo operations on 23rd June. Mark brings a wealth of experience as a leader in the energy sector, and we are confident that he will be a great addition to the RECCo Team.

Congratulations are also due to Jon Hawkins who will be stepping up to interim Director of Operations Programmes for this period. This is to ensure continuity of all our major improvement programmes within Operations such as MHHS, Theft Reduction and the Evolution of both the Code Manager and Enquiry Services.

We are confident that these arrangements will enable RECCo to continue to operate effectively on behalf of REC Parties and Users, and in the best interests of consumers.

The Board will of course support Elizabeth, Mark, and Jon in their new roles. We also wish Sid well over this period of medical absence and look forward to his return.

If you have any questions about today’s announcement, please reach out to communications@retailenergycode.co.uk”
