Round up: CCS REC Drafting Consultation webinar

Image of a woman with a whiteboard

Thank you to everyone who joined our webinar exploring the consultation on the proposed REC drafting required to deliver the Consumer Consent Service (CCS).

The consultation remains open until 9am on Monday 19 October 2026. We encourage all interested stakeholders to review the proposals and submit their feedback.

What did the webinar cover?

The webinar provided an overview of the consultation and covered:

  • The proposed REC drafting
  • Key technical design developments and how these are reflected in the drafting
  • Areas where we particularly welcome industry feedback
  • The relationship between CCS and Tariff Interoperability (TI) Phase 1b

We also explained how the two programmes are being coordinated while maintaining separate consultation and governance processes. This is intended to help suppliers, ATPs and other stakeholders understand the scope of each consultation and where to direct their feedback.

Your questions answered

We received a large number of questions during the webinar. We have captured the answers in our Webinar Q&A, including responses to questions we did not have time to address during the session.

How to respond to the consultation

The consultation is open until 9am on Monday 19 October 2026.

To respond, please complete the consultation response document (Annex A) and send it to consumerconsent@retailenergycode.co.uk.

We encourage REC Parties, Non-Party REC Service Users and other interested stakeholders to review the proposals and share their views.

Your feedback will help shape the final drafting before it progresses through the formal REC Change Proposal process.
