About our role: What you’ll be doing

This is a senior operational leadership role within the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs. You will act as the day-to-day lead across all RECCo stakeholder engagement, communications, PR and brand activity, overseeing priorities and developing a team of specialist practitioners and ensuring work is strategically aligned, well-planned and delivered to the highest standards.

We are creating this role at a pivotal point for RECCo. Our programme of work and stakeholder base is growing, and we are moving towards closer, more integrated working with our service providers as we transition to be the REC code manager licensee. At the same time, we are embedding a unified brand and one organisation experience as we prepare for new licensing requirements.

In this role, you will take day-to-day ownership of the operational delivery across engagement, communications, brand, PR, events and stakeholder insight. Over time, the role will continue to develop as RECCo’s responsibilities evolve and as joint ways of working with the Code Manager Service Providers become more embedded.

Your work will have a direct impact on how effectively we engage and learn from our stakeholders, how the market perceives RECCo, and how confidently we step into our evolving role.

 

 

Your day-to-day

Operational leadership and delivery

  • Leading day-to-day delivery across stakeholder engagement, communications, brand, PR and events, ensuring work is strategically aligned, prioritised, coordinated and delivered on time and to highest of quality
  • Managing workflow, capacity and dependencies across the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications teams, reducing bottlenecks and single points of failure
  • Ensuring outputs are well-informed, clear and consistently high quality, with excellent attention to detail

 Stakeholder engagement and communications

  • Overseeing the development and team’s delivery of RECCo’s annual stakeholder engagement strategy, plan and supporting activities and campaigns, ensuring activity aligns with organisational priorities and strategic direction
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and representing RECCo credibly at industry meetings and events
  • Overseeing and supporting the development and publication of key corporate publications, including the Annual Report, Forward Work Plan and annual budget.
  • Ensuring a consistent and professional one-brand experience for stakeholders across all engagement channels as part of RECCo’s unified brand strategy implementation into day-to-day delivery

 Brand, narrative and reputation

  • Ensuring consistent application of RECCo’s unified brand, tone of voice and messaging across RECCo and the Service Providers
  • Supporting delivery of thought leadership, external positioning and media activity
  • Overseeing the evolution of RECCo’s brand governance, templates and design standards to support a clear and credible external presence

 Insight, reporting and continuous improvement

  • Overseeing stakeholder insight, reporting and analytics, ensuring data is reliable, used effectively and supports evidence-based decision-making
  • Embedding learning from feedback and engagement into future planning and delivery
  • Supporting compliance with licence-driven reporting and engagement expectations

Senior support and deputising

  • Acting as the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications deputy for the Director of Corporate Affairs, providing leadership cover, expert stakeholder understanding and continuity when required

 

 

 

About you: What you'll bring

  • Proven experience leading stakeholder engagement and communications activity in the energy sector or similar regulated environment
  • Strong people and delivery management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and maintain high standards
  • Experience overseeing integrated communications activity, including publications, digital channels, events and brand application
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing clear, practical advice to support decision-making
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible messages for different audiences
  • Strong organisational skills, with a structured and evidence-led approach to planning, reporting and insight
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
