Our commitment to becoming a menopause-positive workplace

Despite women making up nearly half of the UK workforce, many feel compelled to reduce their hours, pass up promotions, or even leave their jobs due to inadequate menopause support. Women over 50 are the fastest-growing demographic in the workplace, yet conversations about menopause are still often met with misunderstanding or silence.

The average age for starting menopause is 51, but studies show the majority of women feel uncomfortable discussing menopause-related health issues with their line managers, fearing a lack of understanding.

Our work so far

At RECCo, we’re committed to changing this narrative. In October, we celebrated World Menopause Day. We took an important step toward becoming a menopause-positive workplace by welcoming Julie Cowser, a licensed Menopause Workplace Trainer with Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, to deliver a Menopause Awareness Session for our team. Julie shared key insights on:

  • The stages and symptoms of menopause;
  • How it can affect work-life;
  • Practical management strategies;
  • Support resources that are available to all.

We’re proud to have earned our menopause training certificate and to raise awareness within our organisation. But this is just the beginning—our commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment continues as we look forward to taking further steps on this important journey.

We’re becoming a Henpicked ‘menopause-friendly’ employer

We’re committed to becoming a Menopause-Friendly Employer by earning our Menopause-Friendly Accreditation with the support of Henpicked.

The Menopause Friendly badge helps everyone understand best practices and makes it easier to achieve them. To accomplish the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, we must demonstrate to an Independent Panel of experts that we actively support menopause at work across five accreditation pillars. Currently, over 500 UK employers are committed to being Menopause-Friendly.
