Our response to: Consumer protections for heat network customers

On the 27th of October, RECCo responded to the joint Government-Ofgem consultation on consumer protections for heat network customers.

We agree with the focus on ensuring that consumers on heat networks receive equivalent protections to those in electricity and gas markets. We suggest that consideration should be given to whether any of the consumer-facing obligations within the REC could be extended to heat network customers to avoid the fragmentation of governance.
