Your new REC Portal: Our progress and next steps

We’re building a new REC Portal, one that’s easier to use, quicker to navigate, and designed around your day-to-day needs.

Working with our Digital Services partner, Capgemini, we’re building a more intuitive platform, including:

  • A clearer, more accessible digital REC and data specification
  • Improved tools to support change management processes
  • More intuitive, AI-powered search and support
  • Improved reporting

Our goal is to reduce friction, improve usability and make it easier to interact with the REC and its supporting tools and services.

Progress so far

Since entering the mobilisation phase of the project in July 2025, we’ve made strong progress and are now building and refining the portal.

Development has been iterative, shaped by ongoing input from users across the industry. This has included validating requirements and use cases, testing design options and refining how the Portal will work in practice.

We’ll continue to collaborate with users as we move towards soft launch. This will allow us to test the Portal in a live environment and confirm whether it is working as expected before we roll it out to everyone.

If you’d like to be part of our user community, you can still sign up on our website here.

Updated launch timing

The full launch of the new REC Portal is now planned for November 2026.

This aligns with wider industry changes, including Code Reform Phase 1 and RECCo becoming the Code Manager Licensee. This ensures the Portal is ready to support new arrangements from day one.

The current REC Portal will remain available until the new one is fully launched.

Get involved

We’re running monthly user group sessions, and they’re continuing to evolve.

Our next session is on Tuesday, 19th May 2026, from 2pm to 4pm.

There will be another session with the design team on 23rd June before we move on to the next stage.

After that, we’ll be running update sessions to demonstrate the platform and support the soft launches. These are planned for:

  • 21st July
  • 18th August
  • 22nd September
