A working session to support the Design Consultation
We’re hosting an in-person Consumer Consent Solution Engagement Day on 4 March 2026 in London, bringing together industry, policy, technical, and consumer voices during the Consumer Consent Solution Design Consultation. By the time we meet, stakeholders will already have access to the consultation pack and proposals. The day is designed for practical discussion, giving you a clear understanding of what’s being proposed, the opportunity to ask the right questions, and shape your feedback before the consultation window closes.
The Consumer Consent Solution Design Consultation opens on 11 February 2026 and runs for six weeks. This is your early heads-up so you can plan to get involved as soon as we publish the consultation pack, response instructions, and key dates.
Timeline
- 11 February 2026: Consumer Consent Solution consultation pack published (includes response instructions and key dates)
- 4 March 2026: In-person Consumer Consent Solution Engagement Day (London)
- End March 2027: Minimum Marketable Product (version one) launch
What you’ll get from the day
You’ll leave with:
- A clear understanding of the Consumer Consent Solution design proposals
- The confidence to engage with the Design Consultation (and respond efficiently)
- A stronger footing to collaborate with RECCo on a robust, consumer-centric solution
What we’ll cover
The session will focus on four key areas:
Policy and consent design
We’ll walk through the proposed legal and REC policy approach to granting and revoking consent, including minimum standards for identity verification. We’ll also flag likely impacts, key risks, and where feedback will be most valuable.
Technical design and delivery
You’ll get visibility of the proposed technical architecture, core design assumptions, and the security controls underpinning the solution. We’ll make space to test feasibility, surface dependencies, and talk through implementation considerations.
User experience and consumer outcomes
We’ll explore the proposed approach to Customer Experience Guidelines, with a focus on consent journeys that are clear, accessible, and consistent. This includes non-digital journeys and the needs of consumers in vulnerable situations.
Governance and next steps
We’ll review the proposed framework for delivery and operation, including funding, assurance, change control, and issue resolution. We’ll also set out consultation timelines, decision points, and how stakeholders can stay involved through delivery.
Who should attend
This is a working session, not a presentation-only event. It’s for anyone with an interest in consumer consent, data sharing, flexibility, or retail market design, including suppliers, service providers, consumer organisations, technology providers, and policy stakeholders.
There’s built-in time to meet peers across the market, with breakfast, lunch, and refreshments included, and networking drinks after the event.

Get involved in our working groups
We’re also holding regular Consumer Consent Solution working groups, both general and topic-specific, to keep collaboration moving through design and delivery.
