Update on GES platform implementation and next steps

We want to provide you with the latest update on the implementation of a more efficient and robust platform for the Gas Enquiry Services (GES). Although we conducted extensive testing and monitoring, the initial migration on 22nd June 2024, revealed some unexpected data issues. Consequently, we decided to revert the GES Online Portal and Supply Point Switching API to the legacy platform.

Current status

Our performance reports indicate that the legacy system has continued running smoothly since the rollback. During this time, our team has been working diligently to resolve the data issues we identified to make re-platforming possible. If you experience any issues with the GES, please submit a support ticket through the portal.

Next steps

We are now ready to reimplement the new GES platform in the coming months. The revised implementation plan includes enhanced scrutiny and assurance for the data discrepancies we identified during the previous migration attempt. We are working closely with our partners, Xoserve and Correla, to ensure that this re-platforming will significantly improve the reliability and overall quality of the GES.

We are committed to keeping you updated throughout this process. Towards the end of September, we will provide another update on the project’s status. At this stage, we don’t anticipate any direct actions being required from users for this upgrade.

Thank you for your continued support as we enhance the GES platform. We hope to provide all users a more robust and reliable system soon. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Andres.Alvarez@retailenergycode.co.uk.
