We’re pleased to announce that, effective from 1 July 2025, we’ve appointed Capgemini as our Digital Services Partner. This marks a major milestone in the transformation of our Digital Services.

Why we’re evolving our Digital Services

Following feedback from our users about their experience using the current Retail Energy Code (REC) Portal and digital solutions, we’ve been evolving our Digital Services. Supported by the Code Manager Evolution Stakeholder Advisory Group, we’ve completed the procurement of a new Digital Services Partner to create a modern and scalable integrated digital ecosystem with a primary focus on delivering a high-quality user experience.

Our vision is to provide and manage a modern, integrated, and user-friendly digital environment that simplifies interaction and navigation, promotes engagement, and drives efficiency for all users. The REC Portal will be the channel for stakeholders to engage with the Digital REC, manage their data, and interact with the REC Code Manager and its processes.

Why we selected Capgemini

Following a competitive procurement process, which included industry representatives on the evaluation panel, we selected Capgemini to design, implement, and operate a new integrated digital ecosystem that will enhance the way we deliver Digital Services to the retail energy market.

Capgemini’s proven track record in simplifying complex ecosystems and driving innovation through Artificial Intelligence (AI), design thinking, and agile delivery will be instrumental in helping us realise our vision for a connected, intuitive, and future-ready digital platform.

Moving these services to a dedicated and expert Digital Services Partner, focused on delivering a seamless and user-centric experience through a modern, flexible, and scalable platform, is a big step forward. It’ll help us improve how we manage and deliver REC Services—and it will be transformational in supporting our goal of achieving Service Excellence and providing a solid foundation for future innovation.

What the new digital ecosystem will deliver

The new digital ecosystem will consolidate multiple legacy systems into a single, modern platform, with user experience being the key principle. It will include:

  • A centralised Digital Experience Platform (DXP) to serve as the primary interface for all users (i.e., the new REC Portal)
  • A Digital REC and Data Specification with enhanced navigation, version control, and machine-to-machine capabilities
  • Streamlined solutions for Change Management, Service Management, Party Management, and Committee & Event Management
  • AI-powered search and assistance tools
  • A comprehensive Data Analytics & Reporting platform to support performance monitoring and strategic insights

How to get involved

We recently invited stakeholders to join our Digital Services Community to help shape the future design and experience of the new REC Portal. If you’d like to join, please register your interest.

What’s next

We’re looking forward to working collaboratively with Capgemini and our stakeholders to design, build, test, and implement the new integrated digital ecosystem. This initiative will underpin our new Code Manager Service launching in Autumn 2026.
